This sauce is an adaptation of a sauce from Serious Eats.  Adjust the heat level and sweetness by adding more or less red chili flakes and pineapple juice.  The recipe for Crab Rangoon is on this site.  They are delicious and fun to make.  And this is the perfect dipping sauce.

    Step 1

    Combine the vinegar, sugar, catsup, chili flakes and water. Heat over medium heat in a small saucepan until the sugar dissolves.

    Step 2

    Make a cornstarch slurry and stir it into the sauce. Stir and cook until thickened.

    Step 3

    Take the sauce off the heat. Add the pineapple chunks and then use an immersion blender to make the sauce smooth.

    Step 4

    Let the sauce cool, and serve with Crab Rangoon.
