I decided that a good way to get a jump start my new romance novel was to sequester myself at The Biltmore Hotel in Coral Gables for a few days. My friend who was going with me canceled so I wound up going alone. Which was fine. I spent the days writing and wandering around the hotel grounds, and at night I ate at some really wonderful restaurants. From my window, I ‘crashed’ an Indian wedding and watched fireworks over the golf course on New Year’s Eve. I read a small stack of books (what a luxury to be able to lounge around and read all evening!) And I managed to finish three chapters and a synopsis of my novel . All in all, this vacation was a great success. I would like to go back in the summer when I can take advantage of that ENORMOUS pool and gorgeous golf course. Check out the pictures of the restaurants I went to. The Jeremy Ford restaurant called The Beauty and The Butcher was especially interesting. That slow cooked beef rib served off the bone and cut into chunks was outstanding. The chef served it with a chimichurri sauce and pickled slaw so that you could eat it “taco” style. Yum.
