HELLO DOLLY!

One step forward and two steps back!  Last week, we had a real breakthrough when Dolly tried to pick a fight with Zelda the Rotty and Zelda (ever the pacifist) refused to fight.  Afterwards, Dolly followed Zelda around like a puppy.  That lasted a few days until Dolly then decided to try and pick a fight with Josephine the Poodle.  Things didn’t go quite the same.  Josephine turned and engaged… fully!  Zelda decided she needed to be involved and the dog fight was on.  Luckily, I was present and it only took some shrieked commands to “Kennel up,” and all three dogs separated and went to their respective corners.  Later I found a small dead sparrow in the garage that I suspect was the impetus for this skirmish.  Who knows where that little bird came from, and I called the vet to ask whether I should be worried about bird flu.  They are definitely all under observation for a few days!

She is definitely a Socks Offender!
Those are my fuzzy slippers and socks which she has appropriated for herself.
And while I have yet to get a big smile out of her, at least she is relaxed.

I haven’t been cooking a lot lately!  Of course, I had a weekend steak… and if I haven’t already, I strongly recommend the marinated steaks at Chris Specialty Foods on West End Blvd., Nola.  One night for dinner, I was so tired I literally made cheese toast for dinner.  Uber Eats came to my door several times this week!    Sheet pan salmon was a partial success mid-week… I overcooked the salmon a bit but the roasted vegetables which were packaged as “stir-fry veggies,” from Fresh Market were delicious!  I’ll definitely do that dish over and next time I’ll watch the cook time on the fish so that it doesn’t get overdone.
