It’s hard to understand how life can be so wonderful in my own little world while people on the same planet are suffering so much.  The sky over Israel was lit up by rocket drones and interceptors.  Shrapnel rained down on the head of a 7 year old Bedouin girl.  Watching the tragedy unfold while standing in my living room was surreal.  At last, I changed the channel mindful that in doing so I possess a luxury so many people don’t have.  In my back yard, the sky was full of stars.  I had a beautiful dinner and a quiet night with happy dogs at my feet and a glass of wine in my hand.  Perspective is everything.  If you’re safe, loved and well-fed, you’re lucky.
