This is my house wine. I love it cold. I love it not-so-cold. I like it with Chinese food, and I like it with just about everything else. It’s crisp, acidic with green apples, lemon and a little herbal flavor. And it has a screw top! So, it can last in the frig for 3 or so nights and when you need to get to it, you can get to it fast! It was perfect with roast chicken, and perfect with the baked apple with cinnamon and sugar that I ate for dessert. This is a food friendly wine and I highly recommend it. It’s a little under $20 at Dorignac’s (in November, 2024).
Wine Enthusiast says: Shy aromas of green-apple candy are playful but restrained on the nose of this wine. The palate follows suit, hinting at notes of Granny Smith, blanched almonds and Emmental. Light bodied and refreshingly bright, the wine is artfully balanced and nuanced. Despite the whisper-soft mouthfeel, it’s complex in flavor. A slight alcohol burn on the finish diminishes as the wine opens up. — Layla Schlack
James Suckling gave this wine 90 pointes and says: Attractive aromas of caramelized pear and summer meadows are married to lively citrusy acidity on the medium-bodied palate. Very refreshing and animating finish. Everything fits neatly. A cuvee of 80% auxerrois and 20% pinot blanc. From organically grown grapes.
