There's something about a juicy steak and a baked potato that makes me feel like everything is going to be okay. Maybe I got that from my dad's side of the family. They were undoubtedly hard-core carnivores. On a Friday night when I'm still winding down from the work week, and consciously trying NOT to re-live it, it's comforting and easy to throw a good steak on the grill and open a bottle of good red wine. If I can immerse myself in a good movie, even better. I earned it.
And if I get an invitation to dinner at Steak Knife on a Friday night (like I did last week!) that's the BEST way to end the week.
