Kate Winslet’s portrayal of the Vogue photographer & sometime model turned WWII war correspondent was skillfully restrained, intelligent and artful. I could practically smell her after she’d gone without a bath for a few weeks (and by the time she took a bath in Hitler’s tub I totally got it!) This movie not only captured a moment in history but told a story about a beautiful woman of extraordinary determination and bravery. I really liked Andy Samberg’s performance, too. I was very emotional at the end of this movie. Lee Miller was an amazing woman and I’m glad I got to know her through this film. Ellen Kuras could win a best director award for this, in my amateur armchair movie-goer opinion.
