I get it that Yorgos Lanthimos is a great director. I get it that Jesse Plemons is a great actor, and Emma Stone is a great actress. What I don’t get is why I should be interested in a movie about characters that are completely unlikable. I felt like I got jerked around emotionally watching this movie. I actually hated this movie. I would have stopped watching after 20 minutes if I were not so determined to watch all the movies nominated for Best Picture this year.
