SIP AND FEAST (2025)


I found James Delmage on YouTube. His videos are great to fall asleep to! And that is not a bad thing. He does a nice mise en place that makes the recipe seem easy. Then he goes through the recipe step by step and at the end of the video, his teenage son materializes for a tasting. The kid is brutally honest! But most everything Delmage cooks looks delicious. This is basic Italian food for the most part, straightforward and family friendly. The cookbook itself has nice pictures and clear instructions. I have greatly whittled down my cookbook collection over the past years because it was starting to look like I was hoarding cookbooks. But this one is a keeper. I have cooked several recipes of Delmage’s including the Chicken Scarp and the Lemon Chicken with Potatoes. Most recently, I made his Shrimp Oreganata with minimal tweaks and it was amazing. I highly recommend this cookbook.
