How is it that my sister who doesn’t drink wine picks the absolute BEST bottles for me? This Saint Emilion Grand Cru wine was delicious. With a juicy rib-eye, it was big and bold and smooooth. Redolent of red and blue berries and subtle spice, it was incredibly easy to drink. It had a slightly heavier body than some of the sleek Bordeaux wines that I have had, which was perfect with steak and potatoes. The fruit was up-front in a good way and cut through the fat of the steak. I give this wine “five glugs!” I loved it.
Here’s what one REAL wine critic said: 94 points Antonio Galloni for Vinous: “The 2019 Tour Saint Christophe is a fabulous wine that marries fruit intensity and structure. Black cherry, graphite, dried herbs, menthol, licorice and spice give this driving, potent Saint-Émilion tons of character. Tour Saint-Christophe remains one of the greatest values in Bordeaux. Tasted two times.” (01/2022)
92 points Jane Anson for Inside Bordeaux: “The Vignobles K are becoming essential wines for sure-fire quality. Plump black cherry and damson fruits, a little upfront with the grilled oak right now that makes things a touch austere, but there is freshness running underneath and it will soften over the next few years. Good quality. Tasted twice. 37hl/ha yield, 40% new oak for ageing.” (10/2021)
