I have watched both of these movies twice. They are both scary – the way the tension builds in both movies makes it impossible to look away. And yet – in both movies – you know this story is not going to end well. How horrific things really get, well, that’s the surprise. Personally, I preferred the 2022 version. But the 2024 version has James McAvoy and he is capable of playing the MOST sinister characters. The Danish film is relentlessly harsh while the American remake has a more satisfying ending. If you are a horror fan, both of these movies are must-sees.
