This is a movie you should watch. But fair warning, it’s disturbing. Directed by Steven Spielberg, it depicts and dramatizes Operation Wrath of God, Israel’s covert retaliation after Palestinian militants murdered 11 Israeli athletes at the 1972 Munich Olympics. The cast was amazing: Eric Bana, Daniel Craig and Geoffrey Rush. This movie was nominated for Best Picture and Best Director. John Williams’ original score is haunting – he was also nominated for an Academy Award for Best Original Score. A must-watch, this movie will leave you shaken. I was especially moved by Eric Bana’s character Avner Kaufman who found solace, normalcy and humanity in the act of cooking and “breaking bread,” with his hit-squad. If you’ve only watched this once, watch it again.
