For the first time, I flew into Ocho Rios as opposed to Montego Bay. This left me only 20 minutes from Jamaica Inn. The added bonus was sailing through customs in a matter of minutes. I was on the beach in time for lunch.
Day Two was cloudy and rainy, ideal for reading and napping and going to the spa. Devoured Erik Larsen’s, In the Garden of Beasts. Shadow stopped by on behalf of the welcoming committee.
After a late and leisurely breakfast, Kingsley telephoned to advise that Christopher the lifeguard had reserved for me my usual spot under the almond tree. When I arrived, there were beach towels, two noodles and a bottle of sunscreen awaiting. I spent the better part of the day in the water and underneath the almond tree. Nothing better than dining on a club sandwich with icy cold white wine while your feet are in the sand.
