SO FAR SO GOOD

This is Day Two 2024 Jamaica Inn.

I arrived yesterday afternoon. It was a rough trip to the hotel because of some unpleasant phone calls and texts that had nothing to do with work. Why would a friend think she should tell me how good my ex thinks she looks... Oh, well. I had a short and rum soaked therapy session with my pal Patrice at the bar and she assured me JA will make it all right and I should not worry. Not surprisingly, I am a Believer. Today brought a cloudy drizzly glorious day in Ocho Rios, and this is what I did:

I went to a local market with a small group from the hotel and Chef Maurice as our guide.  It was an outdoor market where locally grown produce was sold along with some imported fruits and vegetables.  Without exception, all of the people in the group were “regulars” at Jamaica Inn.  There was an older couple from the UK (he is a retired lawyer).  There was a Canadian woman who said she has been coming here for 30 years.  And one other British couple, very nice.  After the market tour, Chef Maurice demonstrated how to make his Snapper Escovitch and fried plantains.  If the day wasn’t already a resounding success, I spent the afternoon having a cannabis oil massage. Dinner and a movie and the sound of the ocean.  A chat with Patrice on the verandah.  It was a true blessing of a day.
