I loved this movie. First, Keanu Reeves and Hiroyuki Sanada were gorgeous to watch. Second, it had plenty of action and suspense that held my interest for 2 hours and 8 minutes. Third, it was a character driven action film meaning it was more than just sword fights and special effects. Keanu’s character was noble and brave so it was easy to invest in rooting for him. (It’s pretty easy to root for Keanu in almost any role he plays — and don’t we love it that in real life he dates an age appropriate non-starlet?) The costumes were lush. The love story of Kai and Mika was beautiful. Yes, I know this was a box office MEGA-bomb but I enjoyed it.
